Barbro Sprinchorn (1929-1973) was a Swedish textile artist who worked in flatweave, embroidery and appliqué. Born in Sundsvall, she moved to Stockholm and trained at Konstfackskolan between 1948 and 1955, first as a drawing instructor and then through the school's advanced textile course.
Barbro Nilsson, then artistic director at the Märta Måås-Fjetterström studio, recruited her from Konstfack, and from 1955 to the mid-1960s she produced a large body of flatwoven rugs and textiles there. Her work is lighter and more playful than most of the studio's output, full of flowers and botanical detail, and it carries her initials BS beside the MMF mark. She had a successful one-woman exhibition at Galleri Hantverket in Stockholm in 1961, at the age of thirty-two.
