Woven in Sardinia, where the island's flatweave tradition has been worked continuously in small family workshops. The characteristic technique is pibiones, named for the grapes it resembles: the weft is looped around a needle laid across the loom and the needle withdrawn, leaving the pattern standing off the ground in raised grains, each one counted and wound by hand. Mohair is the usual fibre here alongside wool. Made to order in the size required.
