Our wall coverings are both handwoven and loom-woven. The handwoven surfaces are made in the Philippines and Japan in abaca, raffia, bamboo, silk and linen, including handmade Japanese washi papers and the Karakami woodblock traditions of Kyoto, where the irregularity of a hand-made ground gives a wall a depth that a printed paper cannot. The loom-woven coverings come from carefully chosen mills working in small batches, in wide, consistent runs for walls and ceilings across larger schemes, and include the woven wood of the Kyoto workshop Tatinoya. Standard widths are listed where they are recorded, and the same materials serve for ceilings and room dividers as well as walls.
