Woven in Spain, which has the oldest carpet-making tradition in Europe. The Arab geographer al-Idrisi recorded fine carpet weaving at Cuenca in 1154, and the Castilian town went on to supply Europe and the East for centuries, its royal factory working into the eighteenth century. Behind it lies al-Andalus, Islamic Spain from 711 to 1492, and the weaving culture that radiated from its courts. Made to order in the size required.
